I have just concluded my Norwich University of Arts BA (Hons) Games Art and Design course, specialising in Concept Art. My passions lie in the creative side of life, where my main hobbies even outside of work are character design based. I am an extremely hard worker, something reflected in my work ethic at university, where I consistently met my deadlines due to pre-planning. I am a perfectionist who is extremely conversational and friendly and am open to new ideas and challenges. I am easy to talk to, and work well in a team, in either a leadership or supportive role, qualities that were enhanced while taking part in game jams during my degree. I also co-led a Student ‘Art Crit’ group at University, helping newer students improve their skills. This has helped me maintain a keen eye in my own work.
This was a freelance contract position at Screenglow Games, to help them pitch their new title 'Ballhalla'. My client already had a good idea of what sea creature's they'd like for this team, even providing me with little sketches and mood boards for each- it was just a matter of making them professional and ready for promotional art.
I was tasked with creating a character to be used for the marketing of the website, with the theme of the 60s space age. The idea of having him be an axolotl came from looking at how amphibians had been into space. This also led to the character being named the 'Actolotl' to help tie him in with the company.
